Microsoft runs thousands of experiments on hundreds of millions of users every month. In this session, I will introduce the theory and practice of large-scale experimentation. I will also detail a few current challenges in experimentation with production audiences including data engineering, educational and statistical challenges. Our team is also hiring Data Scientists and Engineers for multiple positions, and I can also share details about the internship and hiring process at Microsoft.

Tommy holds an M.S. in Computer Science and an M.A. in Mathematics from Wake Forest. Prior to Microsoft, he was the Lead Data Scientist at Wave Apps, a fintech startup in Toronto, and the lead developer on Verbal Victor, an iphone app with Dr. Paul Pauca at Wake Forest. In his spare time, he runs and skis in the Pacific Northwest.
