Wake Forest University’s Computer Science Dept. has been accepted to the Student Cluster Competition at the SC18 Supercomputing Conference in Dallas, TX. We will be competing against teams from around the world, and we will be sponsored by Cisco, NVIDIA, and Mellanox. This is the first time our department has participated in this competition, and in fact we are the first team from the entire state of North Carolina.
This was made possible through the generous financial support from an anonymous alumni, the Dept. of Computer Science who approved a brand new High Performance Computing class taught by Prof. Cho for this competition, our friends from IS HPC Team Adam Carlson and Cody Stevens who co-taught the course, and pioneering computer science undergraduate students who were in the first classes this year (Dean Beckford, Joseph Chen, Mitch Eisenstat, Zach Green, Jeffrey Jiang, Smiti Kaul, Paul Kefer, Alex Liu, Mudit Singhania, Matteo Spighi, Chianti Yan, and Vera Zhang).
