Faculty
Faculty in the Department of Computer Science have roles or experience within the university that are tied to entrepreneurship.
- Dr. Ron Doyle is currently the Katherine and Dickerson Wright Presidential Chair in Computer Science and Entrepreneurship. In this role, Dr. Doyle will focus on educating computer science students through an entrepreneurial lens and showcasing technological advantages for startups, venture capitalists, and those enrolled in the Wake Forest University Center for Entrepreneurship programs and courses.
- Dr. Paúl Pauca was previously the Lelia and David Farr Professor of Innovation, Creativity, and Entrepreneurship, and Faculty Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship.
Other faculty have undertaken entrepreneurial activities themselves, including starting companies based on research they initiated within the Department of Computer Science.
Courses
Five courses offered by the Department of Computer Science count as general elective credit towards the Entrepreneurship (ENT) minor at Wake Forest University. Additional information on these courses can be found on the Department of Computer Science Course Descriptions webpage.
- CSC 111: Introduction to Computer Science (4 credit hours)
- CSC 331: Software Engineering (3 credit hours)
- CSC 332: Mobile and Pervasive Computing (3 credit hours)
- CSC 361: Digital Media (3 credit hours)
- CSC 385: Bioinformatics (3 credit hours)
Note that no more than six of the elective hours applied towards the Entrepreneurship minor may be counted from a student’s major.
