Xueyuan “Michael” Vanbastelaer

Dr. Michael Vanbastelaer is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Wake Forest University. He received his Ph.D. from Harvard in 2022, under the supervision of Prof. James Mickens and Prof. Margo Seltzer.
His research focuses on systems-level mechanisms that improve security and privacy. He develops OS infrastructures, language-level frameworks, and algorithms to improve system transparency, detect attacks, and handle sensitive personal data.
