Flyer promoting seminar on Sept 8, 2025 on "What I Did Last Summer"

Join us on Monday, September 8 at 4:00 PM in Manc 024!

Caroline McMahon, Ananya Rajgaria, and Quincy Williams will share insights into their research and internship experiences. They will discuss the practical work they engaged in, how they secured these opportunities, and provide an overview of the application, interview, and overall experience.

Caroline: I worked as an “AI Digital Technology Intern” at GE Aerospace on their Data Science and Analytics team, specifically on their Long Range Forecasting project. I spent most of my assignment working on an internal data visualization application used by the marketing team and chat bot integration using an internal LLM.

Ananya: This past summer, I worked as a Data Products Engineer at Munich Re in Hartford, where I focused on building and optimizing data-driven solutions for the business. My role involved writing and refining SQL queries to extract and analyze large datasets, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy, and helping improve the performance of internal tools used by analysts and engineers. This experience gave me insight into how data engineering supports decision-making in a global company and strengthened my technical and problem-solving skills.

Quincy: I did a software engineering internship at Flow Automotive this past summer. Throughout my time there, I got the chance to create plenty of new web pages for them to soon roll out on their site in the coming months. I was fortunate to meet a member of the Flow Automotive team at a Face2Face event, who put in a good word for me, encouraged me to apply and ultimately got me the opportunity in the summer of ’24. This is my second summer working there.

All are welcome!
